Treatment Planning:

Treatment Plan is made using advanced workstation by Gamma Knife Neurosurgeon. during this time patient can relax in his room and take light breakfast.

All images are transferred to the advanced workstation  with Gamma Plan PFX which can use images from MRI scan, CT scan , PET Scan and DSA. It can also do preplanning from pre treatment diagnostic images and fuse the plan to new images on day of treatment.

Once all images are registered in Gamma Plan software a details definition of target and vital structures in the vicinity is made which helps in calculation fo dose to various structures while finalizing a treatment plan.  Gamma Plan PFX can make a plan using multiple size collimators in combination. This is unique feature in Gamma Knife Perfexion which give conformal radiation plan minimizing radiation to surrounding vital structure. Images from PET can be fused to give better tumor delineation and planning.
